The Sparkling Star Day Care Centre is a Montessori kindergarten which started on 2019. It is located in Buswelu ward, Ilemela district, in Mwanza region and registered under the Ministry of Social Affair which supports the work and the development of a child, especially in Montessori pedagogy and methodology.

The sparkling day care centre uses Montessori methodology to teach children by using Montessori materials. These materials are hands-on learning tools that guide children to discover key outcomes through repetition and practice. These materials are divided into five groups:

    • Practical life skills
    • sensorial skills
    • language
    • mathematics
    • cultural (geography, science, art and craft)

Those materials support children´s learning and development. The Montessori method helps children to develop independence, self-confident, communication skills, order, curiosity, concentration and the love to learn. Each material is different from the other and materials are presented according to the age of the child in sequence, from easiest to hardest in dependence of their developmental needs and interest.
