Wuerzburg Muslims contact their collegues in Mwanza
Koran for Street-kids handed over
During the visit of the two responsibles of the Mwanza street-kids project Upendo Daima a first encounter with Wuerzburg Muslims has come about. Ms. Marga van Barschot, who works in the project for eight years alread, together with the manager of the Upondo Daima housing groups Mr. Hoja Tarsisius, met Ms. Sema Kuzucu in the premises of the Encounter Centre for Muslims KIMUS. Mr. Michael Stolz, chairman of the M.W.A.N.Z.A.
Association and also one of the speakeres of the Interreligious Discussion Group had arranged this meeting.
At the occasion the African visitor Hoja Tarsisius brought forward his concern: „In our housing groups with 52 children we have 10 Muslim boys. We meet difficulties buying for them a Koran or the particular Muslim clothing.“ Marga van Barschot supplemented: „Could, perhaps, the Wuerzburg Muslims assist their brothers in faith?
The result of the talk appeared during the Day of town-twinning on the Mainfranken Fair.Ms Kuzucu delivered a Koran book assuring that this symbolic present will have further consequences. „I will discuss this with my fellow community members. We didn’t even know that a third of the Mwanza inhabitants are Muslims. This fact regards us, too, of course.”
